2016 Carneros Pinot Noir
Carneros - Napa Valley - Released October 2018
Our new offering made with grapes sourced from the famed Stanly Ranch on the Napa Side of Carneros. The Alta offering is a combination of four clones: Pommard, 114, 115, and 777. All clones were fermented together for 22 days. The wine went through ML fermentation and was aged for 14 months in 50% new and 50% second year French oak barrels. Racked just once. Unfiltered and unfinned.
90 Points Robert Parker: "The 2016 Pinot Noir has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and expressive nose of black cherries, mulberries and black raspberries with touches of violets and cinnamon stick, plus a waft of underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the ripe, vibrant cherry flavors fill the palate, framed by satiny tannins and a racy acid line, finishing long and tangy."
